Two people have died following the explosion that occurred on Friday in a block of flats in Sector 5 of the capital.
"At this time, two deceased persons have been identified, and another four have been injured. Search and rescue operations are ongoing," announced the Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISUBIF).
Special resources for mass casualty interventions were deployed to the scene, including containers with equipment for locating victims trapped under rubble.
