The three individuals detained by prosecutors in the case of the explosion that occurred in a block of flats in Bucharest's Rahova neighbourhood have been brought before the Sector 5 Court with a proposal for pre-trial arrest.
The persons in question are an employee of Distrigaz and two employees of the Bucharest-based company Amproperty Construct SRL, which had inspected the gas network of the building where the explosion occurred.
According to court records, the three defendants in the case are Mihai Burcea, Andrei Robert Soare and George Daniel Costache.
The three were detained after prosecutors carried out eight searches on Wednesday morning in Bucharest, Ilfov, Prahova and Teleorman, including at the headquarters of Distrigaz and Amproperty Construct SRL.
Prosecutors have opened a criminal case investigating the offence of negligent destruction resulting in disaster, in connection with the explosion that took place on 17 October in a block of flats in the Rahova neighbouhood, which resulted in three deaths.
